Here's a test render of my thesis character. I still have a lot of work to do with the textures and beard in the spring, but I needed to show a proof of concept so I made up a quick rendered version.

I learned how to use ZBrush to create normal maps and displacement maps as well as create color textures. I'm currently working on finishing the tutorial to explain how to do this and bring it into Maya when you are using Renderman.

Here's my thesis character. I'm still not done texturing it and this was only the first pass attempt at the beard. I'll get more into detailing him in the Spring.

Well, I've been back at school for a few months now busy working on my thesis. Haven't updated in a long time. I'll get some things posted soon. The internship was great. I had a lot of fun. Working on my thesis is a lot of hard work, but I find it to be enjoyable because it's my creation. Yea animation!

So I haven't posted anything in awhile because I've been working at my summer internship at EA Salt Lake during the day and working on my thesis at night. Not a lot of time for other things. I love animating and working for a video game company is awesome! I can't say anything about what I'm doing because of the contracts I signed, but I'm having a good time working on it. AS for my own stuff I've been coming up with a lot of ideas for things while I sit and model so I've been jotting them down and maybe I'll knock out a few sketches later on. If anyone has actualy read this far down congratulations! you are probably the first person to do so. I'm going to pick up painting again so that I might have some more things ready for next years megacon.

Just wanted to say thanks to all the people that stopped by our table at Megacon and even more thanks to those that bought stuff :) I had a good time at my first convention and I think I'll be back for more next year with a whole lot of new and better stuff. I have a whole year to come up with things. To anyone that came by I'd love to hear what you think I should improve on and what characters I should do more of. I'm totally new at this so I could use all the comments you want to give me. Thanks again

So here are a few paintings I did of some comic book covers that I like. Just did acrylic on wood. I didn't really get as much done for MegaCon as I had hoped, but I'll be working on more while I'm sitting there. Maybe I'll go back sometime and touch these up digitally...maybe.
